Ingredients

500 g minced lamb
1 medium onion, chopped
fresh root ginger, chopped
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
1  green chili, chopped
2 tbsp coriander, chopped
1 medium egg, beaten
2 tsp coriander, ground
60 g butter
1 tsp cumin, ground
½ tsp turmeric
½ tsp cinnamon, ground
180 ml milk or coconut milk
1 tbsp tomato puree
150 ml plain yogurt

Instructions

Mix together meat, half of the onion, garlic, ginger, chili, coriander and egg. Mix in a bowl and then shape into 16 balls with dampened hands.

Fry meatballs in batches until browned; drain and set aside.

Place the remaining onion in the pan, add the spices and cook for 1 minute, stirring continously. Add milk and tomato puree and bring to a boil. Return the meatballs to the pan and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in yogurt and heat through but do not boil.

Serve with rice.
