Ingredients
500 g | minced lamb |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
fresh root ginger, chopped | |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
1 | green chili, chopped |
2 tbsp | coriander, chopped |
1 medium | egg, beaten |
2 tsp | coriander, ground |
60 g | butter |
1 tsp | cumin, ground |
½ tsp | turmeric |
½ tsp | cinnamon, ground |
180 ml | milk or coconut milk |
1 tbsp | tomato puree |
150 ml | plain yogurt |
Instructions
Mix together meat, half of the onion, garlic, ginger, chili, coriander and egg. Mix in a bowl and then shape into 16 balls with dampened hands.Fry meatballs in batches until browned; drain and set aside.
Place the remaining onion in the pan, add the spices and cook for 1 minute, stirring continously. Add milk and tomato puree and bring to a boil. Return the meatballs to the pan and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in yogurt and heat through but do not boil.
Serve with rice.
