Kadaif details
Ingredients
- Vermicelli – 300 grams (fine)
- Sugar – 2 cups
- Butter – 1/3 cup
- Cottage cheese – 2 cups (grated)
- Lemon – ½
- Pistachios – for garnishing
Instructions
- Break vermicelli into small pieces. Mix a cup of water, sugar, lemon juice and lemon peel and boil till sugar dissolves
- In a baking dish put half of melted butter and half vermicelli, and cheese, keep aside.
- Layer with remaining vermicelli chopped pistachios and remaining butter.
- Place baking dish in on preheated oven on 180C for 20 minutes
- Take out mixture
- Remove lemon peel from sugar mixture and pour on kadaif
- Serve when mixture is absorbed
