Italian mustache icing recipe details
This recipe is one that my mother brought over from Italy. It was a favorite when I was growing up and still is. In spite of the ingredients, white icing is both fluffy and light. Perfect for a devils food or red cake. Watch out for that mustache though!

Ingredients
Serves: 1- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup Crisco(R) shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 5 mins1. In a small sauce pan, stir in flour and milk over medium heat until it thickens. Cool mixture in the refrigerator, 15-20 minutes, or cool to the touch.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add sugar, Crisco and flour mixture. Beat with a mixer for 3 to 4 minutes until light and fluffy. If icing is too stiff, add milk a tablespoon at a time to desired consistency.
