Homestead bread pudding recipe details
- Ingredients
- 6 cups soft bread crumbs (dried cinnamon rolls or homemade bread leftovers are great)
- 4 cups scalded milk with 1/2 cup butter added
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon or nutmeg
- 1 cup raisins
Break bread into small pieces and place in greased 3 quart baking dish. In blender, mix milk, butter, sugar, eggs, salt, cinnamon or nutmeg, and blend. Sprinkle raisins over bread crumbs and pour custard blend over all. Bake in a 325 degree oven until set about 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with lemon sauce.lemon sauce.
