Hashim's hummus recipe details
This is my hummus recipe I have developed over the past few months. The best hummus I have ever had was in Beirut, Lebanon many years ago. With this recipe, you will hopefully have the same experience I had in Lebanon. Eventually you will get good enough at making hummus that you won’t need to follow my exact measurements. 🙂
Ready in: 15 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 6- 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
- 1/2 cup tahini (sesame paste)
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins1. Rinse the garbanzo beans, then place them in the food processor. You may save a few beans for decorations later on.
2. Add the tahini, yogurt, lemon juice, garlic salt, and paprika sauce in the food processor. Run the food processor until the mix is smooth.
3. Check consistency. Add more yogurt if the mix is not smooth enough. Add more garlic salt if needed.
4. Hummus is not complete without olive oil. Add as much olive oil as you like. Use a few garbanzos and some extra paprika sauce for decoration purposes.
