Ham crescents recipe details
Ingredients
120 g | cream cheese |
150 g | butter |
300 g | all purpose flour |
250 g | ham, finely chopped |
1 tsp | hot mustard |
2 tbsp | sour cream |
1 | egg, beaten |
Instructions
In a bowl, cream together cheese and butter until frothy. Add the flour and knead until well combined. Wrap the dough into cling film and refrigerate for approximately 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.In a bowl mix the ham with mustard and sour cream. Cover and refrigerate until required.
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
On a well floured working surface, roll out the pastry thinly. Cut the dough into 8cm rounds. Place a heaped teaspoon of the ham mixture onto each round. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg. Fold the pastry over the filling to half moons. Press the edges with a fork to seal. Prick each pastry with the tip of a sharp knife to allow the steam to escape.
Arrange the crescents on baking sheets and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden. Serve hot.
