Ham and Egg Pie recipe
|300 g||puff pastry|
|2 stalk(s)||leek, finely sliced|
|100 g||cooked ham, cut into strips|
|pepper and salt|
|150 g||freshly grated Cheddar cheese|
|butter, to grease the baking dish|
Lightly grease a pie pan and line the bottom and sides of the pan with half of the puff pastry. Crack 6 eggs onto the pastry base and prick the egg yolks with a fork, but do not stir. Sprinkle with the leek. Season with a little salt and pepper. Arrange the ham first and then the cheese on top of the leek. Cover with the remaining puff pastry. Brush the pastry with the remaining beaten egg.
Bake at 200°C for about 25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve with green salad.
