This dish is super easy, great for both guys and gals and kids 🙂 fast and filling – Hot dogs that are filled with cheese and wrapped with bacon, onions and good old kiwi tomato sauce (ketchup).

Ingredients

Serves: 6

• 6 hot dogs
• 6 split hot dog buns (You can toast or leave un-toasted)
• 1 onion, grated
• Your choice of cheese, sliced thinly
• 6 strips of bacon, cut in half crosswise
• Tomato sauce (ketchup)

Preparation method

Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 10 mins

1. Split hot dogs lengthwise, not cutting through, and fill with strips of cheese. Wrap 2 strips of bacon around each hot dog and secure with toothpicks.
2. Grill or cook on the BBQ with the cheese side up.
3. Remove toothpicks and serve in toasted split buns.
4. Add tomato sauce (ketchup) if desired.
