Ingredients

1 head(s) green cabbage, appr. 1kg, washed and shredded
4 tbsp butter
1  bay leaf
1  apple, geated
1 cup(s) white wine
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp juniper berry
sugar
salt and pepper

Instructions

In a casserole, melt the butter. Add the cabbage and the apple. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the cabbage wilts and becomes a little browned.

Pour in the wine and vinegar. Add water, until the cabbage is almost covered with liquid. Add the bay leaf, juniper berries and season with salt, pepper and sugar. Cover and simmer over low heat until the liquid is nearly absorbed.

If you find them, remove the juniper berries and bay leaf before serving.
