Granola with fruit details
- Ingredients:
- 6 cups regular Quakeroats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut (optional)
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup bran
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans or both)
- 1/2 cup nonfat milk
- 2/3 cup canola oil
- 2/3 cup honey
- 2 Tablespoons water
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup light and/or dark raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped apricots
In a large bowl, combine oats, sugar, wheat germ coconut, sesame seeds, bran, nuts and milk. In another bowl, combine oil, honey, water, and vanilla. Then add to the oat mixture, stirring well to coat. Turn mixture onto 2 large cookie sheets. Heat oven to 300 degrees and bake for 25 to 35 minutes until lightly toasted, stirring twice. Stir while cooling. Add fruit, and stir. Store in tightly sealed container.
Yields: 14 cups
