Granny duvall’s gingerbread recipe

- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 3/4 cup Criscovegetable shortening
- 2-1/4 cups flour
- 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoons ginger
- 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup boiling water
Add beaten eggs to sugar, molasses, and melted shortening; add flour sifted with dry ingredients. Add hot water and mix. Bake in greased shallow pan at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
