Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1 cups dry red beans
- 6 cloves garlic – crushed
- 2 large onions – thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cooked white rice
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 3 hours1. Cook 1 cup dry red beans with garlic in either the traditional method or using a pressure cooker following the manufacturers instructions.
2. Saute the onion in a 2-quart pan, then add cooked beans and water. Gently stir over low heat for 5 minutes, keeping the beans whole.
3. Add cooked rice and simmer for 10 minutes more, stirring occasionally.
