Fudgy chocolate pudding recipe details
Ingredients
100 g | plain flour |
300 g | sugar |
2 tsp | baking powder |
½ tsp | salt |
6 tbsp | cocoa powder |
120 ml | milk |
1 tsp | vanilla extract |
2 tbsp | vegetable oil |
425 ml | hot water |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4, 180ºC, 350ºF. Grease an 8 or 9-inch baking tin (one-piece only).In a bowl mix the flour with half of the sugar, baking powder, salt and 2 tbsp of the cocoa. Stir in milk, vanilla and oil and mix until smooth. Pour the mixture into the tin.
Mix the remaining sugar and cocoa and sprinkle over the batter. Gently drizzle the hot water over the batter and transfer to the oven. Bake for 40 minutes or until set on top.
Serve hot with a portion of the sauce spooned over the top, with whipped cream or ice cream if preferred.
Serves 8-10.
If necessary, it will keep for 2-3 days at room temperature, but warm gently before serving.
Option:
Add 75-100 g chopped walnuts to the batter mixture after adding the liquid ingredients.
