Frosted chocolate cake recipe details
Ingredients
125 g | butter |
125 g | castor sugar |
2 | eggs |
375 g | self-raising flour |
2 tbsp | corn flour |
2 ½ tbsp | cocoa |
185 ml | milk |
For the Chocolate Frosting: | |
90 g | butter |
375 g | icing sugar |
1 ½ tbsp | cocoa |
2 tbsp | milk (approximately) |
butter for the ring pan | |
walnuts, halved |
Instructions
Grease a 20 cm ring pan, line the base with paper and grease the paper.For the chocolate frosting beat butter in a small bowl with an electric mixer until it is creamy. Gradually add sifted icing sugar, cocoa and milk. Beat until the mixture is spreadable.
Combine butter, sugar and eggs in a processor. Process for a few seconds until well mixed. Add all dry ingredients and milk. Process until the mixture is smooth and changed in colour. Spread into the prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven with 190°C to 200°C for about 35 minutes. Stand about 2 minutes before turning on to a wire rack to cool.
Spread cold cake with frosting and decorate with walnut halves.
