- Ingredients
- 5 cups of peeled and sliced peaches
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- dash salt
- Batter:
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
This is a very nice dessert for guests on a milk-free diet. Try to get tree-ripened peaches!
Stir peaches, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt together gently. Put in a 9 x 13-inch pan that has been greased with margarine. Cover with batter.
