I have been making variations of this sauce for years. As far as i know it is based on an Asian recipe, but this is my take on it. It is nice and spicy and very simple to make using these ingredients – you can use more authentic ones if you have time. This can be used for almost any meat or vegetable.

Ingredients
Serves: 2- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon fenugreek powder
- 2 teaspoons turmeric
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 4 black cardamom pods
- 2 teaspoons bouillon powder
- 2 tablespoons garlic ginger paste
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 30 mins1. Fry onions in vegetable oil on low-medium heat until tender. Stir in cumin, coriander, fenugreek, turmeric, garam masala, chili powder, cardamom pods, bouillon powder, garlic ginger paste, bay leaves, and tomatoes; simmer for 5 minutes.
2. Stir in Greek yogurt and simmer for a further 10 minutes or so. Serve and enjoy!
