Easy cheesy mexican 6 layer dip recipe details
A simple and delicious dip for game day; make it ahead of time and refrigerate until kickoff.

Ingredients
Makes: 8 cups- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
- 2 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 cups sour cream
- 3 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 10 mins1. Crumble the beef into a large skillet and add half of the chopped onion. Place the skillet over medium heat and cook for about 10 minutes to brown the beef thoroughly. Pour off any excess liquid.
2. Add tomato sauce and chili powder. Stir together and let the mixture heat to a boil, then reduce heat to Low and let cook for about 20 minutes to thicken.
3. Time to layer the dip! The first layer is the beans. Spread them in the bottom of a 13×9-inch baking dish. Then pour the browned hamburger and onion over the beans.
4. Sprinkle the beef with the tomatoes, green pepper, and the other half of the onion. Then spread the sour cream over the rest of the ingredients, and for the final layer, sprinkle with plenty of cheese! Chill until serving time.
