Down home sweet potato fries recipe details
This is one of the easiest and fastest ways to prepair a sweet potato and can be served sweet as well as savory.
Ready in: 1 hour 30 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 4- 4-6 equal sized sweet potatos
- 2 T. cinnamon
- 2 T. granulated sugar
- 1/3 c. marshmallow creme
- veggie oil for deep frying
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 10 mins | Extra time: 1 hour, freezing1. Peel and clean all of the sweet potatoes. Cut into equally sized fries.
2. Spread out the cut potatoes on a baking sheet and place in freezer for about an hour. (just to stiffen the fry sticks)
3. Preheat your frying vessel (deep fryer or fry pot) to 365 degrees.
4. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar and set aside.
5. Fry potatoes for about 2 min. watching closely because they will burn fairly easily (due to the sugar and starch content).
6. Remove from oil and drain.
7. While the fries are still real hot season with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
8. The marshmallow cream is excellent for dipping! Enjoy!!!!
