Doris' apple fritters recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 8 ounces skim ricotta cheese
- 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced thin (Golden Delicious)
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2-1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup oat bran
- almost 2 cups of skim or low-fat milk
Beat eggs with ricotta and add the apple slices. Mix all the dry ingredients and then the milk and mix to pancake consistency. Heat a little butter and vegetable oil in pan and drop batter by tablespoonful into hot oil and butter. Turn when golden. Serve with warm maple syrup.
