Dave's georgia black eyed peas recipe details
Black Eyed Peas or Pinto Beans. Enjoy and serve with Cornbread.

Ingredients
Serves: 16- 2 Lb pkg. of dried Blackeyed Peas or Pinto Beans
- 8 cubes of instant chicken bouillon or 5 tablespoons of granular chicken bouillon
- 1 lb Bacon
- 1 stick of Butter
- 2 Large Yellow Onions
- 1 lb Ham Pieces
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 8 hours 20 mins | Extra time: 12 hours, soaking1. Soak the Dried Peas or Beans in a large 5 qt pan overnight. Rinse and strain the Peas or Beans.
2. Fill 5 qt pan with 4 qts of water. Add Bouillon. Heat on stove until water boils. Turn heat down to low. Add Peas or Beans to the water
3. In a separate frying pan Fry bacon. Remove cooked bacon and place to the side.
4. Add Butter to the bacon Grease on low heat. Add diced Onions to the Bacon Grease and Butter mixture. Cook Onions until the become brown around edges. Approx. 5 minutes.
5. Place Grease, Butter and onions mixture within the water and Peas or Beans and stir. Add Diced Ham. Add the cooked Bacon (Crumbled). Cook on low heat for 8 hours stirring every hour. Add salt and Pepper to taste
