Ingredients
100 g | flour, all-purpose |
100 g | butter |
100 g | sugar |
1 large | egg, separated |
1 tsp | cinnamon |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
20 | almonds, to decorate |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 150°C.In a bowl combine the butter with the flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add the egg yolk, the sugar, salt and spice. Mix the dough with a wooden spoon and then knead until smooth.
Roll the dough out on a floured surface. Cut out cookie shapes with your favorite cookie cutter.
Mix the egg white with 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of spice and brush over the cookies. Put one almond in the centre of each cookie. Bake for 30 minutes or until light brown.
