Danish apple dessert recipe details
Ingredients
750 g | apples, peeled and chopped |
225 g | sugar |
5 drop(s) | vanilla essence |
1 pack(s) | vanilla sugar |
50 g | butter |
100 g | pumpernickel crumbs |
75 ml | apple juice |
200 g | whipping cream |
Instructions
Bring the apple juice with 175g of sugar, the apple pieces and vanilla essence to a boil and cook for 10 minutes over low heat. Mash roughly with a potato masher and leave to cool down.In a pan, heat the butter .Add the pumpernickel crumbs and 50g of sugar and stir-fry until the breadcrumbs are crispy. Leave to cool down.
Whip the cream with vanilla sugar until stiff.
In dessert glasses, layer in turn apple sauce, pumpernickel crumbs and cream. Finish with cream and garnish with some pumpernickel crumbs.
Refrigerate for 1 hour, then serve.
