Creamed onion sauce recipe details
Ingredients
3 medium | onions, chopped |
1 sprig(s) | rosemary |
salt and pepper, to taste | |
1 tbsp | flour |
240 ml | milk |
½ tsp | Dijon mustard |
30 g | butter |
240 ml | water |
Instructions
Combine chopped onions, rosemary and a bit of salt in a small saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and then turn down the heat immediately.Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes until the onions are very soft. Most of the liquid shold have disappeared.
Discard the rosemary stalk, sift the flour over the top and stir. Stor in the mustard and milk.
Simmer gently for at least five minutes to cook until the sauce thickens.
Serving suggestions:Serve with Bangers and Mash
