Ingredients
800 g | minced beef |
800 g | potatoes, peeled, chopped |
230 g | tomatoes, chopped |
150 ml | water |
2 | beef stock cubes |
40 g | flour |
1 large | onion, chopped |
some | olive oil |
some | milk |
some | butter |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Heat some olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion and minced beef for about 5 minutes. Stir in the flour, the stock cubes, water and tomatoes. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Season well with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat, cover and cook gently for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.Meanwhile cook the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with a bit of milk and a knob of butter.
Preheat oven to 200°C.
Place the meat mixture in a baking dish, and place mashed potatoes on top. Reheat in the oven for about 30 minutes.
