Chocolate cake with coconut recipe details
Ingredients
300 g | soft butter |
300 g | sugar |
400 g | flour |
salt | |
6 | eggs |
1 pack(s) | baking powder |
125 ml | coconut milk |
200 g | dark coating chocolate, chopped |
2 tbsp | cocoa powder |
50 g | coconut flakes |
25 g | coconut butter |
Instructions
In a bowl combine the butter, sugar and the salt and whisk until creamy. Whisk in the eggs, one after the other. Sift in the baking powder and the flour. Add the coconut milk and stir until well combined. Divide the batter to equal parts into two bowls.Preheat the oven to 150°C.
Into one bowl stir the cocoa powder and 50g of the chopped coating chocolate. Into the other bowl stir the coconut flakes. Layer the two batters into a floured springform tin and marble with a fork. Bake for 40-50 minutes. Allow to cool for 2 hours.
Melt the coconut butter and stir in the remaining coating chocolate. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Coat the cake with the chocolate mixture. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before serving.
