|500 g||red plums|
|200 ml||fruity white wine|
|100 g||soft brown sugar|
|1 tbsp||lemon juice|
|1 pinch(es)||ground cloves|
|½ tsp||grated lemon peel|
|6||lemon peel strips|
InstructionsIn a large saucepan, combine plums, water, wine, sugar, lemon juice and cloves. Bring to a boil and simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes or until the plums are very soft.
Pass through a sieve into a bowl. Chill and place into the fridge until completely cold.
Stir in the buttermilk and the grated lemon peel. Freeze the soup for 2 hours before serving.
Serve ice-cold in small soup bowls or dessert glasses, garnished with the lemon peel strips.
