Cherries with Mascarpone recipe

|500 g||sweet cherries, halved and pitted|
|300 g||mascarpone cheese|
|500 ml||red wine, optional|
In a medium saucepan, combine the wine and sugar and bring to a simmer over medium high heat.
Add the cherries and stir a little. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, until the cherries are just tender.
In a small bowl combine the mascarpone with the honey.
Place the warm cherries and wine syrup in serving bowls and top with a large dollop of the mascarpone cream.
