Cheese Potatoes with a Creamy Leek Sauce recipe

Ingredients
1 kg | potatoes, waxy variety |
1 | onion |
3 stalk(s) | leek, approx. 700g |
2 tbsp | butter |
150 ml | white wine |
100 g | single cream |
200 g | grated Cheddar cheese |
nutmeg | |
salt and pepper |
Instructions
Peel and dice the potatoes. Cook in lightly salted water for approximately 15 minutes, until done.
In the meantime dice the onion and cut the leek into slices.
In a saucepan, heat the butter and sauté the onion until lucent. Add the leek. Deglaze with white wine and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the single cream and cook for another 5 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Drain the potatoes, then add the cheese to the potatoes in the still hot saucepan, toss, cover and leave to melt for some minutes.
Season the leek sauce to taste with nutmeg, pepper and salt. Serve with the cheese potatoes.
