Ingredients
1 slice(s) | bread, I used French bread cut on the slant |
2 tbsp | butter |
2 tbsp | Demerara sugar |
1 tbsp | ground almonds |
1 | apple, thinly sliced |
some | blackberries, or sliced plums |
1 tbsp | cream, crème fraîche or custard |
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°FButter the bread generously on both sides and lay it on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with half of the sugar. Press the apple slices on the top, fanning them out to cover the bread. Toss over a few slices of plum or some blackberries. Sprinkle with the ground almonds, the rest of the sugar and dot with butter.
Bake in the oven for half an hour until golden and bubbling. Allow to cool slightly before serving with cream, crème fraîche or custard.
