- 1/2 cup Criscoshortening (very soft, nearly melted)
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 4 Tablespoons hot water
- 3 cups quick oats
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
