This Cajun pepper steak recipe is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines the bold flavors of Cajun seasoning with tender strips of steak. The steak is marinated in a spicy blend of herbs and spices, then quickly cooked to perfection on a hot grill or stovetop. The result is a juicy and tender steak with a kick of heat from the Cajun spices. Serve this mouthwatering dish with a side of rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.

Ingredients

500 g beef, (round or sirloin) cut into strips
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Tabasco sauce to taste
375 ml water
2 large onions, cut into strips
2  bell peppers, cut into strips
2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

Brown steak in oil for about 5 minutes turning to brown both sides. Add 350 ml off the water and Tabasco Sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Add the onions and bell pepper and simmer until meat is tender. If the gravy is too thin, thicken it by mixing the remaining water with cornstarch until there are no lumps.

Remove beef mixture from heat and slowly add the thickening mix while you continue stirring. Return to heat and simmer until gravy thickens.

Serve over Steamed Rice. Garnish with chopped shallots and make sure the bottle of Tabasco is on the table.
