Brie pear canapes recipe details
Pears, Brie, and crunchy macadamia nuts top a sweet bread bruschetta.

Ingredients
Serves: 24- 8 ounces sweet bread; (i.e Portuguese sweet bread, brioche, Hawaiian King’s(R) Bread)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 medium pear peeled, cored finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 3 ounces Brie cheese, cut into 24 pieces
- 1/3 cup finely chopped macadamia nuts
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 10 mins1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cut bread into 1/2 thick slices. Trim off crust.
2. Brush both sides of bread with melted butter; cut into 2-inch squares.
3. Place on a baking sheet.
4. Bake about 10 minutes or until lightly toasted. Turning once.
5. Meanwhile in a large mixing bowl combine chopped pear, brown sugar, lime juice, cinnamon and allspice. Top each bread square with a piece of Brie cheese and a little pear mixture, and a few nuts; press lightly to secure nuts onto top. Broil 4 to 5 inches from broiler, for 2 to 3 mintues or until cheese begins to melt and nuts are lightly toasted.
