Bread on a stick recipe details
Ingredients
400 g | all purpose flour |
1 pack(s) | dry yeast |
1 tbsp | sugar |
300 ml | lukewarm milk |
½ tsp | salt |
2 tbsp | oil |
Instructions
Dissolve the yeast in the milk. Combine all ingredients and knead until the dough is smooth. Leave the dough to rise for about an hour in a warm place, afterwards divide it into 12 portions.When the campfire has burnt down, shape each portion of dough to a 20cm long sausage and spirally wrap around a clean stick. Hold the stick at a distance of about 20 cm for about 10 minutes over the hot embers, rotating the stick frequently.
When the bread sounds hollow when tapped with a knife, it is done.
