Bramley Apple Sauce recipe

Ingredients

450 g Bramley cooking apples, peeled, cored and quartered
1 tbsp water
1 tsp lemon juice
1 pinch(es) freshly grated lemon peel
1 tbsp sherry vinegar
40 g sugar
25 g butter
1 pinch(es) salt


Instructions

In a saucepan, combine the apples with water, lemon juice, lemon peel, sugar and vinegar. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for approximately 10 minutes or until the apples are soft and mushy.

Whisk in the butter and leave to cool down.
