Ingredients
500 g | chicken meat from the thigh |
1 clove(s) | garlic, crushed |
¼ tsp | ginger, shredded |
100 ml | soy sauce |
100 g | sugar |
3 tbsp | green onions, chopped |
100 ml | bourbon |
¼ tsp | crushed dried red pepper flakes |
Instructions
Remove the skin and bones from the chicken thighs. Cut in bite size pieces. Combine all ingredients in one bowl, stir and cover tightly with clear wrap. Marinade in the fridge over night.Preheat oven to 175°C. Transfer chicken with the marinade to a baking dish with a rim. Bake the chicken in one layer for about 1hour, basting several times. If too much sauce evaporates add some water.
Serve over plain basmati rice.
Note: If you prefer a thicker sauce add 1 tbsp. of cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp of water, 10 minutes before the baking time is over. Stir a few times.
I do not recommend using chicken breast, it is just too dry.
If you do not want to use alcohol you can substitute the bourbon with apple juice.
