Blackened tilapia recipe details
Ingredients1. Tilapia fillets (1pound)
2. white bread (4slices)
3. lemon (1)
4. vegetable oil (1tbsp)
5. garlic powder (1 pinch)
6. celery seed (1/2tsp)
7. dried oregano (1tsp)
8. dried thyme (1tsp)
9. cayenne pepper (1tsp)
10. ground black pepper (1tsp)
11. ground white pepper (1tsp)
12. salt (1tbsp)
13. paprika powder (3tbsp)
14. onion powder (1tsp)
Method of preparation
1. Take a jar, add paprika powder, onion powder, black pepper, white pepper, salt, thyme, cayenne pepper, oregano, celery seed and garlic powder in the jar. Shake them until they are blended.
2. Take Tilapia fillets, coat them in spice blend and keep them for 30 minutes in room temperature. Slice the lemon into wedges.
3. Take a frying pan, heat oil in it. When the oil is so hot it is nearly smoking. Put the Tilapia fillets in the hot oil and fry them until the fillets look opaque and can be easily flaked with fork. It takes about 3 minutes per side.
4. Place the tilapia fillets on slices of bread. Now pour the remaining content of the frying pan over the Tilapia fillets and the bread and then squeeze the lemon juice over the blackened Tilapia from the lemon wedges. Immediately enjoy this tasty blackened Tilapia.
