Black gold cookies recipe details
- Ingredients
- 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped coarsely
- 18 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped coarsely
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) plus 1 Tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup plus 2 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon instant espresso powder
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 6 Tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 cups walnuts
- 1-1/2 cups pecans
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt unsweetened chocolate, 1/2 of semi-sweet chocolate, and butter in microwave. In mixer, beat eggs with sugar until light and fluffy. Add espresso, vanilla, and melted chocolate mixture until smooth. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt and add to mixture until just combined. Stir in remaining semi-sweet chocolate and nuts until well combined.
Scoop out in 1/2 cup measures and place 3 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake in middle of oven 25 minutes or until tops begin to crack (do not overbake). Cool on rack.
Makes: Twelve 3/4-inch cookies
