Best of breakfast breakfast pizza recipe details
A full breakfast–bacon, potatoes, eggs and ham–right on a cheesy delicious pizza. Be the star of the morning.
Ready in: 35 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough
- 3 red potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pound thick-cut bacon slices, chopped
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
- 4 eggs, beaten
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 5 ounces thinly sliced smoked ham
- 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
- 2 handfuls arugula
Preparation method
Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 5 mins1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and sprinkle a little flour on a baking sheet.
2. Roll pizza dough out to fit the baking sheet and place on the flour. Bake for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
3. While pizza crust is baking, prep the toppings: place potatoes in a saucepan. Cover with water and add 1 teaspoon salt. Set over medium-high heat. When water boils, drain the potatoes.
4. Cook chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat for about 8 minutes, just until crisp. Keeping the bacon fat in the skillet, drain bacon on paper towels.
5. Next, cook the potato slices in the bacon fat until lightly browned. Cook only as many slices as can fit in the skillet in one layer at a time, or they won’t crisp up. Each batch will take about 5 minutes on medium-high heat.
6. Keep potatoes and bacon warm. Pour eggs into the skillet, add green onions, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and cook until set, about 1 minute. Break up into smaller pieces.
7. Top crust with sour cream, then arrange the toppings on the pizza with Swiss cheese last. Don’t put the arugula on just yet.
8. Bake for 5 more minutes to melt the cheese. Then add the arugula, slice, and serve.
