Beef Moussaka recipe
|500 g||minced beef|
|1 medium||onion, chopped|
|400 ml||tomato sauce|
|⅛ tsp||nutmeg, ground|
|4 medium||potatoes, peeled, cooked, sliced|
|90 g||Parmesan cheese, grated|
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Combine beef and onion in a large saucepan and cook until onions are soft and meat slightly browned. Add tomato sauce and seasonings. Bring to boil and simmer, covered, for about 20 minutes.
Arrange half of the potatoes in a greased casserole dish. Pour over meat-tomato sauce mixture and place the remaining potatoes on top.
In a nother bowl beat together eggs and milk and pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for about 45 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
