Beef and Ale Pie recipe

Ingredients
600 g | beef, cubed |
500 ml | ale |
250 ml | vegetable stock |
12 | button mushrooms |
1 tsp | horseradish |
olive oil | |
salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste | |

Instructions
This is a recipe assumes that you are using ready made pastry or have prepared the pastry yourself beforehand.Warm the oil in a heavy bottom pan and add the steak and washed mushrooms. Cook for about ten minutes. When the meat is brown add the leek, cook for a further five minutes then gradually add the stock, ale and the horseradish. Stir regularly. Take care not to bring to the boil. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 190°C.
When the meat starts to become tender and the liquid reduces by about half, pour the mixture into a pie dish.
Add the pie crust and brush the top of the crust with a little oil. Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown, about 30 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve whilst piping hot with vegetables of choice.
