- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
- 6 quarts cold water
- 1 (12 to 14 pound) fresh turkey
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Extra time: 18 hours, soaking1. Combine all ingredients in a large, clean bucket or cooler and stir to dissolve salt and sugar.
2. Add turkey. Keep submerged in water with a heavy, large can or dish. Cover and place in the refrigerator.
