Basic hot chilli sauce recipe details
Ingredients
250 g | large fresh red chillies |
1 tsp | salt |
3 tbsp | vegetable oil |
1 tbsp | tamarind juice or white vinegar |
2 tbsp | hot water |
1 pinch(es) | sugar |
Instructions
Put chillies in a large pan of boiling water and cook for 2 minutes. Drain well.Put chillies into a blender, add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
Transfer the sauce to a pan and cook over low heat, stirring frequently, for about 8 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and let cool down.
The sauce can be kept refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks.
