Baked pears with a yogurt kiss recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 4 large ripe pears
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- orange juice
- vanilla yogurt
- honey
Pre mix vanilla yogurt with a drizzle of honey and refrigerate. Slice pears in half, remove core and stem. Line the bottom of a glass baking dish with a thin layer of brown sugar, utilizing all of the brown sugar. Lay pears on top of the brown sugar, cut side down. Pour orange juice over pears, approximately 1/3 to 1/2 cup for entire recipe. Dot the pears with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until fruit is tender.
Presentation: for individual servings use broad rimmed, shallow soup bowl or fruit bowl. Place pear half cut side up in serving bowl. Spoon hot brown sugar, orange juice, and butter sauce over pear, purposely let some sauce lap over the side of the pear. Place a dollop or kiss of the yogurt mixture in the cavity created by the removed core. We have our own natural herb garden at Noble Manor. This allows us to choose between Chocolate Mint or Pineapple Sage cuttings to complete the garnishment of this course. We cut the most tender (those at the top of the plant) and place them at the stem end of the pear. This gives an original look to a prepared fruit with an edible garnish!
Prep time is 20 minutes. Cooking time is 30 minutes.
