Baked bramley apple and almond pudding recipe details
Ingredients
570 g | Bramley apples |
110 g | golden caster sugar |
50 g | muscovado sugar, soft bwown or light |
110 g | soft butter |
2 large | eggs, beaten |
110 g | ground almonds |
110 g | whole almonds, blanched |
cream or crème fraîche | |

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Butter a large baking dish.Wash the apples and quarter, remove cores and slice the apples into the dish. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon cold water and the brown sugar. Place soft butter and caster sugar in a bowl and whisk together, then add eggs and continue to whisk. Fold in the ground almonds, to get a grainy and sloppy mixture. Spoon the mixture over the apples and spread out to cover, scattering the top with the whole almonds.
Place in the centre of the oven for about an hour.
Serve with cream or crème fraîche with some calvados whipped in.
