Bacon shots recipe details
Ready to tie some bacon on? Make your own bacon-flavored vodka to impress your friends. Enjoy straight shots of bacon-y goodness, or use this to create a killer Bloody Mary.
Ready in: 4 days 3 mins
Ingredients
Makes: 1 1/2 cups- 4 to 6 strips bacon
- 1 (375 ml) bottle cheap vodka
Preparation method
Prep: 3 mins | Extra time: 4 days, marinating1. Cook the bacon until very crispy, but not burnt. Press between paper towels to remove as much grease as possible. Crumble when cool.
2. Drink a couple shots of the vodka to make room, then pour the crumbled bacon into the bottle of vodka. Screw the top back on, and set the vodka aside at least 4 days. The flavor will change the longer it ages, so experiment to see how you like it best.
3. Serve as shots at room temperature, or freeze before serving. You can either let the bacon settle and carefully pour bacon-free shots, or shake it up and serve a sort of bacon Goldschläger.Storage note
This does not need to be refrigerated any more than the worm in a bottle of mescal needs refrigeration. The vodka will preserve the bacon quite well.
