Avocado feta lamb burgers recipe details
Fresh avocado slices and warm (if not quite melty) feta cheese top these delicious lamb burgers. Cook over a grill with a handful of wood chips thrown over the coals, and serve slathered with your choice of tzatziki or a nice garlic aioli.

Ingredients
Makes: 4 lamb burgers- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1/4 cup minced red onion
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram or oregano leaves
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon avocado or olive oil
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/4 cup tzatziki or roasted garlic aioli
- lettuce for burgers
- sliced red onion
- 1 avocado, sliced
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 10 mins1. Preheat grill for medium heat.
2. Mix together the lamb, minced onion, soy sauce, marjoram, salt and pepper, and form into 4 patties.
3. Brush the patties with avocado oil, and cook on the preheated grill until cooked to your desired degree of doneness. Sprinkle with the feta cheese in the last few minutes of cooking, and let the cheese soften. Toast the buns on the grill, and keep warm.
4. Spread the tzatziki onto the buns, and place the lettuce and sliced onion on to the bottom bun. Throw a cooked lamb burger on each bun, then top with the sliced avocado and the bun tops.
