Asparagus strata recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 pound fresh asparagus (or 2 cans drained asparagus spears or pieces)
- 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 loaf french bread, cubed (8 cups)
- 2 cups cheddar cheese
- 1 cup ham (or use as much as you want)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 8 eggs
- 2-1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Saute asparagus, pepper, and onion in butter in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Layer bread cubes, ham, 1 cup cheese, and veggies. Beat all other ingredients (except cheese) and pour over layers. Sprinkle remaining cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.
