- Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 stick of butter, cut into pieces
- 3/4 cup toasted walnuts
- 10 large tart green apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
- 1-1/3 cup cranberries
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Mix first six ingredients into a bowl. Add butter and cut until mixture resembles coarse meal. Mix in walnuts. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine apples, cranberries, sugar, and lemon juice in bowl. Toss gently. Transfer to buttered 12-cup baking dish. Sprinkle topping over all. Cover with foil. Cook 20 minutes. Uncover and bake until apples are tender and the topping is golden brown, about 40 minutes. Spoon into bowls. Top with a dollop of maple whipped cream and fresh mint leaf.
