Apple coffee cake with pecans recipe details
- Ingredients for coffee cake:
- 3 cups apple, peeled, sliced
- 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1-1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- Ingredients for glaze:
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 Tablespoon softened butter
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 teaspoons hot water
Cake:Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease 9″x13″ inch pan.
Mix apples and cinnamon together and set aside. In a separate bowl beat together for about 3 minutes flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, milk, butter and eggs. Pour half of the flour mixture into a 9″x13″ inch pan, top with half of the apple mixture. Pour the other half flour mixture on top and another layer of apple mixture.
Mix pecans cup brown sugar together, sprinkle over the top. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle on top.
Bake for 50 minutes; cool for 15 minutes.
Glaze:Mix the powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and hot water until smooth consistency. Drizzle the glaze over the cake.
