Apple cake recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon and salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 cups diced peeled cooking apples
- 1 cup sugar (granulated)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix flour, wheat germ, soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. In large bowl combine apples, sugar, oil, walnuts, eggs, and vanilla. Add flour mixture. Stir gently with wooden spoon to blend well. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar.
